DARE - Dutch Adventure Ride Experience
The DARE event is just across the water in the Netherlands, catering for adventure bikes but also a range of other activities including workshops and talks, great food and live music, as well as more than 20 brands exhibiting their latest wears. I’ve not been to this even personally, but have heard lots of great things about it and am hoping to make it this year!
Despatch Rally
The origins of this event was to rally the motorcycle community to celebrate the original Despatch Riders - military riders tasked with delivering critical messages between units. Quite possibly the OG adventure riders! Held in Dorset, this is a great camping weekend catering for the whole family, with lots to see, and a number of rider challenges for the adventurous!
ABR Festival
The ABR Festival, from humble beginnings of a marquee and few hay bales for seats, has grown to become the largest bike event in the UK! Held in the stunning grounds of Ragley Hall, it’s host to nearly 20,000 people over the long weekend, all camping! There are several speaker tents with a vast range of talks, many by celebrities of the biking community. There are also 50km of trails on site for those that want to get dirty. The majority of manufacturers will have their bikes on display, with many having their bikes available for test rides, both on and off road. There is also a huge range of vendors will be there with their kit on sale. And if you still have energy left, the nights are awesome with great food, live bands and DJs. Can highly recommend the silent disco! See you there!
Traction Adventure Bike Festival
Traction is a new event to us - but it’s adventure bike focused, and based out of Baskerville Hall that has hosted many legendary events, going right back to the early days of the GS community! The event has a number of workshops, offroad rides, as well a number vendors lined up. Being at Baskerville Hall also means there is the option of staying in the hotel, for those that would rather not rough it! Would be great to hear opinions from people who have been before.

The Summer Social
If the idea of riding the roads and trails of the Peak District with friends, combined with camping, good food and live music, in a chilled atmosphere appeals, then this is the event for you! It’s a small event, focused on good times with good people - we’re really hoping we can make this one ourselves this year!

Malle Mile
The Malle Mile, a legendary event that has been running for a few years in the beautiful grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle. It combines a great opportunity for people to use their all manner of bikes in fun events like the Hill Climb, Malle 500 and the Sprint, with an amazing custom bike exhibition. And once the the sun goes down, live music, DJs and food keep the party going late in to the night. Even if you’re not riding, this event is still incredible, for the range of bikes and the atmosphere.
Armchair Adventure Festival
Matt and Reece describe the AAF as ‘The UK’s best celebration of adventure travel!’ And it really is - with fantastic range of talks and presentations, held by a wide variety of adventure travellers, whether it be by motorcycle, on four wheels, or eve by foot! It’s a fascinating and inspiring event, held in a beautiful venue in Cornwall, with great atmosphere that continues in to the night with great food and live music.
The Burning Bike Fest
Hosted by the excellent Moto Junkies crew in Wales at their great location in Wales, this is a celebration of the Spring Equinox and the start of the biking season, for those not crazy enough to ride through the winter ;-) As well as trail riding and the option of some coaching from their instructors, there is also the option of going for a wild swim in the river, and some great hikes. And in the evenings, there will be food, and a great fire! Go check out the link to get involved.
